Today I had tests done at a Neuro Diagnostic Center on both of my hands. For 10 to 15 years I've struggled with my hands aching, going numb and becoming weaker. As a result I've had to stop doing some of my favorite things such as; crocheting. This has become frustrating to say the least and finally I've decided to see what is going on. Hopefully I'll get the results and be able to move forward.
I must say the test was quite interesting. The technician made marks on my hands and arms. Electrodes were placed at different locations and then proceeded to shock my arms and hands. This test is to see how the nerve responds to the shocks. After this was done the doctor came in and proceeded to take these acupuncture type needles and poke me. Two of the pokes were extremely painful and no fun! After the tests were completed my right hand was especially affected. I could feel the pain radiating up my arm and it felt as if I had been using my hands for hours.
After this I know I have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome...but I have to wait for the official report.
