Giving Back!
A "Ribbons of Hope" warmer is $35 and $7 will
go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to help other women!

As a breast cancer survivor, I'm honored to display this warmer in my home.
I love the name, "Ribbons of Hope"!

I Climbed Diamond Head!

I Survived The Hike
I traveled over uneven rocks and dirt surfaces which led me through a dark tunnel and up a steep 99 step stairwell.  Then there was this narrow spiral staircase inside of a bunker!  My reward for climbing Diamond Head was a panoramic view of South Oahu from Koko Head to Barbers Point...I DID IT!!!

A View of Diamond Head Crater
Half way up the mountain with the iron railing
below to show the path that was taken.

The summit comes into view!

I'm getting closer!

Now the reward of reaching the top!

Hawaii...Just a few days away!

I'm getting so excited!  My trip to Hawaii is just days away.  After 2 long, busy and crazy weeks at the flower shop, shopping for all that I need and getting the house situated...I'm ready to go and relax!  I cannot believe that it's almost here!  We, Debbie, Christie and I, have made plans to go to a luau, go on an outrigger ride...sounds like fun huh?!?!  Debbie and Christie will take paddle surfing lessons, I'm going to pass and sit on the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Until then, Aloha!

It's Crocheting Time Again!

Last week Doug and I traveled to Utah for Doug to attend the Utah Ham Fest.  While traveling I like to do something, so I brought along my yarn and crochet hooks.  A week or so before leaving I found some fun patterns to make hats for my nephew and nieces.  Here are pictures of the results of that trip!

Velata and Missionaries!

Tonight we had the pleasure of feeding not 2 but 3 missionaries along with my dear friend Robin and her friend.  Doug and I always enjoy having the missionaries over for dinner, they bring a special spirit into our home.

Well after dinner we had a FUN dessert...no not cake, not pie or ice cream.  We had Velata ~ chocolate fun fondue!  There were two kinds of chocolate: Milk Chocolate and Caramel Milk Chocolate.  I can say this, they were not shy one bit...and did they dip and dip and dip into the chocolate.  It was the BEST to see these young men enjoying themselves.  And to top it off they could not stop talking about it.  One Elder said, "I'm going to write about his in my journal tonight."  The other Elders agreed and will do the same.  The youngest Elder (waiting for his Visa to Argentina) was already contemplating having Velata at his homecoming and he has 20 months left on his mission!

This evening was a treat and a delight...and I can't wait to share this Velata fun fondue experience with others.

Busy Month

I'm still finalizing some of my father's affairs.

Dad's headstone arrived and is now in it's proper place.  It's beautiful and I know he would be happy with the selection that all of us kids made.

I'm ready to get his 2010 taxes to the CPA and have that taken care of.  Roger and I went to the DMV to transfer the title of the 1956 Ford Truck.

It will take some time for everything to be finished regarding my dad's affairs.  But all in all, it has run pretty smoothly.

March was super busy for me and Scentsy.  My sales were good, over $2000 which means I'll have a nice commission.  Now that I've paid off all my credit cards, I can purchase something that I've wanted for a long time and I can pay cash for it!  That's exciting.  I'm going to be working on my guest room in April and I'll be ordering a desk to put in there.  I need a place to sew and do crafts because our office is so full of my Scentsy business and Doug's business.  There's just not room for one more piece of furniture in that small room and besides, I'm worth it!

Team Meeting

For several weeks or even months, I had been preparing for my first team meeting in my home.  I was a nervous wreck to say the least.  What to talk about?  Who would come? Would I say the right things?  How receptive would my team be?  These were all the things running through my head.

It came to a point when I knew I had to just relax and let it be.  I collected goodies for those that would be attending and most importantly I was making name badges for them.  I had to start early on the name badges as they had to be approved through Scentsy's compliance department.  I thought it was be difficult, but it was rather simple.  The name badges turned out wonderful and I'm so thrilled that I decided to go purple instead of black.  They fit the Scentsy color scheme quite well...and the little crystals in the stars helped a lot.  It was a fun little project.

There was a good turn out with 17 team members in attendance.  I wanted other team members to participate and I asked Erica Powers a SuperStar Consultant on my team to present on how to create your own Scentsy Story.  She did FABULOUS and I am so proud of her.  I think it went quite well and it was good for the team to meet each other.

SuperStar Director Becca Levie and her daughter, Kallie Pettichord were supposed to attend, but due to unforeseen circumstances they were not able to make it.  I look forward to them one day coming to my home to meet with our team.  I know that I have an AMAZING team and I am so proud of them.  They are the BEST!

January 2010 Goals

I don't make New Year's resolutions.  I've found that making goals has worked better for me.  So here are the goals that I've set for myself this year.
  •  Stay Cancer Free
  • Grow My Scentsy Business
  • Grow My Team
  • Spend Time with My Dad
  • Give More Than I Receive

I'm a Director

It's a busy month with the holidays rushing all around us.  Scentsy has boomed this year, especially for me and my team.  I've been watching the numbers...almost consumed by the anticipation of becoming a director.  I stayed up late and finally decided to go to bed from sheer exhaustion.  Well, to my surprise, I received an email from my SuperStar Director informing me that I made Director.  I was totally shocked to say the least...the numbers were close but at 11:50pm the numbers did not qualify.  I guess when I went to bed.there were some last minute orders placed that put my over the $10,000 mark and I became a Director.

I have the most amazing team.  I could not be doing what I am doing without them.  I give all the credit to my team.  They are AWESOME!!!
