A Little Hawaii in Arizona

May 2008 I got the priviledge of going to Hawaii after I had completed all my Breast Cancer treatment, surgeries and reconstructive surgeries.  I wanted to go to paradise to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and be at the ocean.  I brought home 3 Plumeria starts and each one has bloomed.  This plant pictured was the first to bloom and the first to bloom twice.  It's a sweet reminder of my time in Hawaii and I will forever treasure my beautiful Plumeria plants. I cannot wait to return to the Island of Oahu to smell Hawaii again. My next trip is planned for May 2013 and for now I get to be at my home in Mesa, Arizona and smell my future!

These pictures were taken over a period of time.

Velata and Missionaries!

Tonight we had the pleasure of feeding not 2 but 3 missionaries along with my dear friend Robin and her friend.  Doug and I always enjoy having the missionaries over for dinner, they bring a special spirit into our home.

Well after dinner we had a FUN dessert...no not cake, not pie or ice cream.  We had Velata ~ chocolate fun fondue!  There were two kinds of chocolate: Milk Chocolate and Caramel Milk Chocolate.  I can say this, they were not shy one bit...and did they dip and dip and dip into the chocolate.  It was the BEST to see these young men enjoying themselves.  And to top it off they could not stop talking about it.  One Elder said, "I'm going to write about his in my journal tonight."  The other Elders agreed and will do the same.  The youngest Elder (waiting for his Visa to Argentina) was already contemplating having Velata at his homecoming and he has 20 months left on his mission!

This evening was a treat and a delight...and I can't wait to share this Velata fun fondue experience with others.

Right Carpal Tunnel Release

Yesterday I had a proceedure to help with my hands. I've been suffering for over 20 years with pain and numbness in both my right and left hand.  My right hand was tested "severe" and my left hand tested "moderate".  With that being said, we took care of the right hand first!
